DIY DEEP WATER CULTURE (DWC) HYDROPONIC SYSTEM

  • Aquarium Air Pump
  • Aquarium Air Tubing
  • Aquarium Air Stones
  • Net pots (Sizes vary)
  • Hydroton
  • 5 gallon bucket or storage tub

TOOLS:

  • Drill
  • Tape measure
  • Key hole saw/ hole saw

Phase 1: Plan System

Single Pump

  • (1) 5 gallon bucket with wide lip 6” net pot

Double Pump

  • (2) 5 gallon bucket with wide lip 6” net pots
  • or
  • (1) Large Tub with 4 (4”) or 6 (3”) net pots

Quad Pump

  • (4) 5 gallon bucket with wide lip 6” net pots
  • or
  • (2) Large Tubs with 4 (4”) or 6 (3”) net pots
  • or
  • (2) Large Tubs + (2) 5 gallon buckets

Phase 2: Build System

  • Pre-soak graphite air stones in water for 30 minutes
  • Drill hole for air line into chamber
  • Run air lines into chambers and put on air stones
  • Trace outline and cut out holes for net cups in lid

Phase 3: Fill and Test System

  • Arrange system in grow area
  • Trim air lines and connect to pump
  • Add water to correct levels and test airflow
  • Put in net cups and fill with hydroton
